Friday, April 27, 1962 – Paraglider Meeting Produces 21 Changes

Following a review of the design and testing philosophy for the Half-Scale Test Vehicle, part of Phase II-A of the Paraglider Development Program, the Half Scale Test Vehicle Design Review Board has recommended to North American 21 changes in the test vehicle design and the test procedures.

Once the emergency parachute recovery system is qualified, the Half Scale Test Vehicle is to be used to evaluate the stability and control of the paraglider. This is to be done in a series of drop tests with the wing already deployed.

Author: Project Gemini Chronology

The Project Gemini Chronology is drawn from multiple sources, but most heavily from NASA's Special Publication-4002, Project Gemini Technology and Operations: A Chronology, prepared by James M Grimwood and Barton C Hacker, with Peter J Vorzimmer. Other chronologies will be used where fitting, such as (particularly) those for Project Mercury and Project Apollo.
