I mentioned yesterday Iva Sallay’s hosting of the 140th Playful Math Education Blog Carnival. This is a collection of pieces of educational, recreational, or otherwise just delightful mathematics posts. I’d said I hoped I might have the energy to host one again this year and, you know? Denise Gaskins, who organizes this monthly event, took me up on the offer.

So, if you write, or read, or are just aware of a good mathematics or mathematics-related blog, please, leave me a comment! I’ll need all the help I can get finding things worth sharing. Anything that you’ve learned from, or that’s delighted you, is worth it. It’ll teach and delight other people too.

And if you have a blog and would like to try out hosting it, please do! There are always months available, and it’s a neat different sort of blogging challenge.

I never heard of this! Will have to look into it more! Not sure if my blog applies for the carnival, but check it out here: https://mathsux.org/

This is exactly the sort of thing to share! Do you think you have any particular post that stands out, that you’d like people to read first? Or do you just trust there’ll always be something worthwhile at the top of the page?

Thank you! There should always be something interesting at the top, I write a new post every week.

I don’t specialize in maths posts, though a few of my followers seem to think so, but I feature mathematics as part of an interdisciplinary lesson each day, if that counts? While every post has mathematics in it, I now try to wrap the maths in another topic to make it more appealing. The first post you come upon should give a general idea, unless you’d like a specific link?

I think interdisciplinary mentions of mathematics absolutely count! Part of the joy of these carnivals is seeing mathematics topics from new perspectives.

Unfortunately I’m not hosting this month’s Blog Carnival. Denise Gaskins herself is, if the schedule at https://denisegaskins.com/mtap/ is still current. The good news is I believe a post’s due this week or so. So a comment at https://denisegaskins.com might be very well-timed.

And you might also want to consider hosting the blog some month. It’s a challenge (I’m not up to the work more than about twice a year), but it’s an exciting and enriching one.

I’m swamped at the moment, Joseph, but I’d be glad to host some month once I’m un-swamped. Heading over to DeniseGaskins..

Many thanks!

Certainly understand being swamped; Iv’e had a terrible time lately professionally and personally. I hope you’re able to find a bit more breathing room.

Fair enough. Taking care of myself just enough to get these books out there.
